Cristiano Ronaldo began his professional career at Sporting CP in Portugal, where his performances in 2002–2003 attracted attention from top European clubs. In 2003, he signed with Manchester United for £12.24 million, becoming an instant sensation with his speed, dribbling, and goal-scoring. His breakthrough came in the 2007–08 season, scoring 42 goals across competitions, helping United win the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, and earning his first Ballon d'Or. In 2009, Ronaldo transferred to Real Madrid for a world-record £80 million fee, where he spent nine seasons and rewrote the club's record books. He scored 450 goals in 438 appearances, becoming Real Madrid's all-time leading scorer, and was pivotal in winning four Champions League titles (2014, 2016–2018), two La Liga titles, and multiple domestic cups. His individual brilliance earned him four more Ballon d'Or awards (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017), solidifying his status as one of football's greatest. Ronaldo joined Juventus in 2018 for €100 million, winning two Serie A titles, including the first as the player to secure league titles in England, Spain, and Italy. He scored 101 goals in 134 appearances before departing in 2021 amid tensions. Returning briefly to Manchester United, he scored 24 goals in 38 games but left by mutual consent in 2022. Since December 2022, he has played for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, scoring prolifically and continuing to add to his over 950 official career goals.
