Deepak Chopra was born in New Delhi, India, in 1946, and pursued a medical career in Western medicine, moving to the United States in 1968 with minimal resources. He became Chief of Staff at New England Memorial Hospital before establishing a private endocrinology practice. In the 1980s, he embraced Transcendental Meditation and co-founded Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center. By 1996, he co-founded the Chopra Center for Wellbeing in California. Chopra has authored over 95 books, many New York Times bestsellers, emphasizing internal peace over materialism.
