Phil Knight co-founded Nike, Inc. in 1964 with Bill Bowerman, transforming it into a global leader in sportswear. Serving as CEO from 1964 to 2004 and Chairman until 2016, he oversaw Nike's growth to billions in annual revenue.

Philip Hampson Knight was born on February 24, 1938, in Portland, Oregon. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Oregon and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Knight co-founded Blue Ribbon Sports in 1964, which became Nike in 1971. Under his leadership, Nike innovated with products like the Waffle Trainer and secured pivotal endorsements, including Michael Jordan in 1984. Now Chairman Emeritus, Knight has focused on philanthropy, donating generously to the University of Oregon and owning the animation studio Laika.
