About Sahil Bloom
Sahil Bloom - Biography
Sahil Bloom is a Stanford-educated former baseball player, private equity professional, and bestselling author who shifted from finance to writing on personal growth, wealth beyond money, and productivity.
Sahil Bloom was born to an Indian mother from Bangalore and an American father from the Bronx, embodying a blend of cultural worlds that shaped his unique perspective on identity and difference. He attended Stanford University on a Division I baseball scholarship from 2009 to 2013, playing as a student-athlete who helped the team reach two NCAA Super Regionals. During this time, he earned PAC-12 All-Academic Team honors twice, the Bruce R. Cameron Memorial Award for excellence in athletics, academics, and leadership twice, and graduated with a double major in Economics and Sociology plus a Master's in Public Policy. Post-graduation in 2014, Bloom entered finance, joining Altamont Capital—a private equity firm managing multibillion-dollar funds—as one of its first analysts, rising to Vice President. Despite financial success, he felt unfulfilled and pivoted to writing and investing, founding the Curiosity Chronicle newsletter and SRB Ventures. His debut book, 'The 5 Types of Wealth,' became a New York Times bestseller in 2025.
