Maksymilian Rafailovych 'Max' Levchin was born on July 11, 1975, in Kyiv, Ukraine. He immigrated to the United States in 1991 and graduated with a BS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois. Levchin co-founded PayPal in 1998, serving as CTO until its acquisition by eBay in 2002. He later founded Affirm in 2012, which went public in 2021. Levchin is known for his contributions to anti-fraud technology and remains active in investing and philanthropy.
