Ross W. Greene earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Virginia Tech in 1989. He held academic appointments at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Tufts University, and Virginia Tech. Greene originated the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model, focusing on children with deficits in flexibility, frustration tolerance, emotion regulation, and problem-solving. He authored books like The Explosive Child and Lost at School, promoting collaborative problem-solving over punitive measures. As founding director of the non-profit Lives in the Balance, Greene advocates against exclusionary practices and executive produced the documentary The Kids We Lose.
